The Empresses is a series of five prints featuring red butterfly wings and glitter, each named after a historic female ruler. The project expanded Hirst’s longstanding fascination with butterflies, one of his most iconic motifs, into a bold, contemporary edition series that combined visual spectacle with themes of power, mythology, life, death, and transformation. The release marked a new innovation for HENI’s editions program with the introduction of the NFT Deed, allowing collectors up to 3 years to exchange the deed for their physical artwork, thus allowing maximum flexibility.
